5 November, 2023 - 100th Anniversary Celebration Evensong

An evening service, drawing from the English tradition on which the organization was established, plus a celebration of local and contemporary Canadian composers.  

The service included the world premiere of an organ piece by Leonard Enns, commissioned by BMRBPIPEORG.  Also included was Ronald Gibson’s Toccatina on PICARDY which he composed for Winnipeg Centre in 1982.  Local organists Wes Elias and Linda Fearn provided organ accompaniment and voluntaries.  Katy Harmer of St. Andrews United Church directed the multi-denominational choir.

A wine and cheese reception followed.

13 May, 2023 - Third Annual Bach Marathon

After the success of the first two Annual Bach Marathons, J. S. Bach returned to host a third run, this time accompanied by his beautiful wife, Anna Magdalena.   

Performers of all ages performed various selections with flute, saxophone, voice, piano, and organ.

Admission was by donation and all proceeds went to the support of RCCO educational resources.

25 September, 2022 - Recital for Ukrainian Humanitarian Aid

Gail Archer, international concert organist based in New York City, presented a recital of organ music by Ukrainian composers and J. S. Bach.  $1,320 were raised and donated to the Ukraine Humanitarian Aid Appeal, a project jointly sponsored by the Canadian Ukrainian Congree and Canada-Ukraine Foundation to provide humanitarian assistance quickly and efficiently to those in need in Ukraine.  Thank you to everybody who attended for your support and generosity in making this possible.

Music by Bach for violin, flute, cello, organ and voice was performed.

There was even a guest appearance by Bach himself!

The documentary Pipe Dreams, which follows contestants in the international organ competition, was screened.  Thomas Gaynor, one of the contestants featured in the documentary, presented a short recital following the screening.

A variety of local performers filled the afternoon with music by Bach.

The newly acquired OrgelKids kit was also showcased and the audience had the opportunity to interact with the mini pipe organ.
